Thermo-Kinetics Donates to the Victims of Hurricane Harvey

As many of you have heard, Hurricane Harvey hit the United States in August, damaging hundreds of thousands of homes and people, resulting in over $70 million in damages. All of us here at Thermo-Kinetics were devastated to hear about this news, and were more than willing to help in any way we can. We believe that it is times like these where we let our neighbours from the south know that we are here to help, and therefore we have decided that the best way to help was to donate through the Red Cross. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families who have been affected by the hurricane, and hope that everyone can get back on their feet as soon as possible. Toronto (Mississauga), Ontario

This past February, Thermo-Kinetics and Honeywell representatives held an Experion LX Roadshow in Montreal and Toronto to give partners and customers an opportunity to further understand and get hands-on experience with Honeywell Experion LX Distributed Control Systems.

With a great turnout of over 40 people, Thermo-Kinetics and Honeywell were able to promote and explain the differences between a DCS and PLC. The seminars provided vital information to all who attended in a relaxed atmosphere.

With the numerous people in attendance, both Thermo-Kinetics and Honeywell were thrilled that the attendees were able to learn something new about the LX Distributed Control Systems.

We look forward to our next Seminar, and hope all can attend the next event.

Here are a few pictures from the seminars.

LumaSense makes Thermo-Kinetics the ONLY authorized Repair and Calibration Centre in Canada for their Temperature Products

Calibration and Repair personnel have attended factory training in Santa Clara, CA and Frankfurt, Germany and a large investment has been made in a high-temperature calibration furnace to allow for in-house calibrations of E2T Infrared Thermometers used in the Oil and Gas field, as well as other users of Infrared Thermometers. Previous maximum temperature limit of 1,500°C for infrared calibrations has increased to 2,500°C with the acquisition of the new furnace.

"Being able to offer repair and calibration of these devices without having to go to the U.S. or Germany will greatly benefit our customers both in turnaround time as well as cost", says Peter Dello - Central Region Manager.

Thermo-Kinetics also recently successfully completed the renewal assessment of their ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation which will be in effect until February 2017.

New product

The TR6 is an electronic compensator that corrects temperature values of long downhole thermocouples (in excess of 200m) prone to errors due to higher loop resistances. Most modern instrumentation is not manufactured to handle higher loop resistances inherent in longer length thermocouples. The TR6 was developed in 2013 by Thermo-Kinetics who offers this unique first of a kind instrument to the downhole monitoring industry, and currently, the Canadian & US patents have been applied.
