RECORDERS: CIRCULAR, STRIP CHART AND PAPERLESS/VIDEO

the senior, more experienced workhorses of recording such as the
DR4300 & 4500 Circular Chart Recorders as well as the DPR180
& 250 Strip Chart Recorders continue to fulfill their traditional
roles, Paperless recording is the new darling of the industry

confidence in video recording. They allow greater flexibility
for monitoring and storing data than traditional paper recorders.

PYROMETER IMPAC IS 8 PRO
The series 8 pyrometers are high-quality, battery driven portables for non-contact temperature measurement.
The pro series is a revision of the 15 years proven plus series. The instruments feature fully digital signal processing,
resulting in wider temperature ranges as well as higher accuracy. With the additional integrated graphic display the
measuring results can be shown and analyzed directly on site.
For high temperatures the IS 8 pro is available
in two temperature ranges between 600 and 2500°C, for the medium temperatures the IGA 8 pro with a range from 250 to
1600°C. The IS 8-GS pro is a special version for use in foundries.
THERMAL IMAGER MIKRON M7604F AND M7604G
Dual function infrared camera with the specialized filtering for seeing through flames or imaging glass surfaces.
The Mikron M7604F and M7604G represent another milestone in innovative infrared thermometry. This fully-radiometric
camera with its high-temperature functionality makes it the perfect tool for measuring the inside temperature of furnaces
and boilers. The Mikron M7604 is ergonomically designed for comfortable one-handed point-and-shoot operation, includes
on-board digital voice recording, and can simultaneously record high-definition 14-bit thermal images with digital visual
images. The Mikron M7604 is completely self-contained in a splash-proof metal case, is battery operated, and stores images
and data to PCMCIA cards. Images can also be viewed in real-time via the video output or through an optional built-in
IEEE 1394 (Firewire®) interface. The MikroScan M7604 comes standard with extensive onboard image processing software.
It also can be remotely controlled from a PC using optional software developed by Mikron, which provides additional
analysis and reporting capabilities.

temperatures, reporting both readings simultaneously in one instrument.
Complex Processes
Optimal operation of your Sulfur Recovery Unit (SRU) requires measurement and control of a complex sequence of processes.
Of particular importance is control of the reaction furnace temperature to prevent damage to the refractory at high
temperatures and ammonium salt from plugging the converters at low temperatures.
Installations that use the reaction furnace to incinerate waste gases like ammonia and hydrocarbons must maintain an
adequate temperature to assure their destruction. Advanced processes, such as O2 enrichment, normally involve even
higher temperatures and demand close monitoring.
Temperature Systems
LumaSense’s MIKRON E2T products solve your furnace temperature measurement requirements with sophisticated infrared
technology. The PULSAR III is designed to measure two wavelengths for continuous and instantaneous measurement of
Refractory Temperature (RT), Gas Temperature (GT) and Integrated Temperature (FF) in the vessel, away from the heat,
vibration and corrosive gases. The custom mounting hardware allows for visual inspection of combustion processes,
refractory cure-out and preventative maintenance while the vessel is fully operational.
CALIBRATION SOURCES
Calibration sources are infrared radiators with fixed or adjustable temperatures between -40 and 3000°C, used for the
calibration or verification of the correct temperature-indication of pyrometers, thermal imaging systems, heatflux
measurement systems or spectrographic analysis systems. Depending on the model of the calibration source single temperature
points or temperature curves of an infrared measurement device can be monitored and recorded.
LumaSense Technologies supplies a unique selection of very precise blackbody and calibration sources. These are
defined by cutting edge emissivity values, very homogenous emission areas, a wide range of different sized apertures
to adapt to the desired target area. Fast heat up times and high temperature stability are guaranteed.
The internal feedback control loop of the calibration sources are driven by integrated or external digital PID-controllers.
Temperature control of low to mid temperature radiation sources is by integrated thermocouples. High temperature radiators
are controlled by integrated pyrometers.

SULTAN 234 - ACOUSTIC WAVE TECHONOLGY
The SULTAN 234 emits a high powered
acoustic wave transmit pulse which is reflected from the surface of the
material being measured. The reflected signal is processed using specially developed software to
enhance the correct signal and reject false or spurious echoes.
The transmission of high powered acoustic waves ensures minimal losses through the environment where the
sensor is located. Due to the high powered emitted pulse, any losses have far less effect than would be
experienced by traditional ultrasonic devices.

ORCA - SONAR LEVEL SYSTEM
The ORCA Sonar Series transducer emits a high powered acoustic pulse,
which is reflected from the interface density selected. The reflected signal is processed using specially developed software
algorithms that eliminate lighter floating densities and stratified layers, allowing measurement
of "RAS" or "BED" levels.
It can be calibrated to measure lighter densities
like "FLOC" or one of the outputs could be used for a "CLARITY" output,
similar to a basic turbidity transmitter measuring solids in suspension.

AIR COOLED FIRESIGHT
The FireSight viewing system requires a boiler wall penetration of only 2-3/8 in. With its small size,
the system will normally fit between boiler tubes and can often be used with existing wall penetrations.
FireSight systems provide the highest image clarity in the industry. The Light Volume Control feature, a
Lenox exclusive, consists of a remote-controlled motorized iris and spot filter located in the furnace
lens. With the Light Volume Control, an operator can easily adjust the amount of light transmitted to the
camera, eliminating the flaring common with other systems and ensuring a high-quality image from initial light
off to maximum load.
FireSight also has a proven record of reliable performance that is
unmatched by any other system available today.
WATER COOLED FIRESIGHT
These systems use a water-jacketed furnace lens assembly in place of the air-cooled assembly and wall
box, allowing operation in temperatures up to 3800°F. This lens assembly is also slightly smaller than
the wall box and can be used in boiler wall penetrations as small as 2-1/8 in. FireSight water-cooled
systems provide the same features and reliable performance as air cooled systems for higher temperature
applications or for installations where compressed air cooling might be less desirable. Units are
available up to 12 feet in length.

Lenox Instrument high-temperature camera systems provide clear, crisp images of the combustion process in boilers,
furnaces, kilns, incinerators and other combustion chambers. With the real-time image provided, operators can

through gold plated keyed connectors and a weather-proof fitting for easy installation and reliable operation.
The entire system is sealed. All calibration is completed without opening the explosion-proof housing.
SafeCAL will endure temperatures from -40oC (-40oF) to +85oC (+185oF). It will operate even when its conduit box
is one third full of water.
